LEGISLATION

What is the CUCPTSA LEGISLATION TEAM?

The Legislation Team:

  • Is made up of one or more representatives from each school in our district.
  • Advocates for all public school children in our district and in the state.
  • Meets monthly to review legislative news, to take advocacy stands on educational matters and to promote activism on the part of parents and community members on key issues.
  • Creates an annual legislative agenda which outlines the key issues that the team will focus efforts on for that year.
  • Travels to Sacramento several times a year to meet with key legislators and to learn more about the pending education issues.
  • Creates a monthly report for distribution to all schools in our district. This report covers legislation, policies, and key decisions affecting public school children at the local, state and federal levels.
  • Mary Grbic is Tijeras Creeks' Legislation Representative for the 2009/2010 school year. She will report on legislation issues at PTA meetings and on this website throughout the year. For additional information, contact Mary at mary.grbic@cox.net
