What is the CUCPTSA LEGISLATION TEAM?

The Legislation Team:

• Is made up of one or more representatives from each school in our district.
• Advocates for all public school children in our district and in the state.
• Meets monthly to review legislative news, to take advocacy stands on educational matters and to promote activism on the part of parents and community members on key issues.
• Creates an annual legislative agenda which outlines the key issues that the team will focus efforts on for that year.
• Travels to Sacramento several times a year to meet with key legislators and to learn more about the pending education issues.
• Creates a monthly report for distribution to all schools in our district. This report covers legislation, policies, and key decisions affecting public school children at the local, state and federal levels. Click here to view the latest report: brief version or full version.
